About Gerbera Plant

Gerbera plant is native to tropical regions of South America, Africa and Asia. It is very popular and widely used as a decorative garden plant or as cut flowers. Gerbera species are herbaceous plants that grow in tufts and have stems, typically reaching heights of up to 80 cm. Furthermore they often have a fuzzy covering at their base. Besides the leaves form a rosette and are shaped like ovals, with smooth edges or sometimes with teeth or lobes. They can have a stalk or a petal-like base, and their veins are arranged in a feather-like pattern. However the undersides of the leaves are often tough and fuzzy. Furthermore each rosette can produce one or more stems that bear either bracted or unbracted clusters of flowers, with each cluster consisting of a single head.
