About Alpinia Purpurata
The aplinia genus contains a number of lovely ornamental plants that you ve probably seen in high-end flower arrangements. They flower with upright cones of bright red or pink flowers on large stalks, and their leaves are frequently fragrant when crushed. Alpinia plant does not produce flowers for the first 3 years, but when they grow, they show huge football sized flowers, blooming all year around.

Planting And Care
Although Alpinia are not especially picky about their soil, it s not uncommon for the plants to experience a mild magnesium deficiency. In this case, supply them with a pinch or two Epsom salts every month or so to keep the leaves green and healthy.
