About Fiddle Leaf Fig

The fiddle leaf  fig from the Ficus genus of trees is an exciting species to grow with larger leaves and is one of the best house plant for purifying indoor air. Fiddle leaf consists usually a single trunk and a canopy of spherical or hemispherical shape, which is symmetrical with an irregular outline. Its foliage, of coarse texture, is dense and has an upright or spreading appearance. As an indoor plant, it gets significantly smaller dimensions and has a rather upright appearance. When these plants mature in age and size they make a great focal point within living rooms, hallways, offices or hotels.

Sunlight

  • Fiddle leaf fig grows well in bright indirect sunlight.

Soil

  • Soil should be well drain and porus.

Watering

  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Apply 1 cup (Approx. 50 ml) water when the top soil (3-4 inch) in pot feels dry to touch.
  • Apply water probably in the morning or evening time.
  • Do not overwater the plant.
  • As a rule of thumb, water the plant thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.

Application of fertilizer for Fiddle leaf fig Plant

  • Before application of fertilizer loosen the topsoil without disturbing the roots of the plant so it can uptake the nutrients and moisture.
