Nephrolepis cordifolia Duffi “Boston fern” Plant

The lemon button fern plant is a dwarf variety of the common Boston fern plant  and goes by many names including button sword fern, erect sword fern, little-leaved sword fern, and fishbone fern. This adorable compact fern is known for being resilient and less finicky than some of its relatives, and its small size makes it perfect for growing indoors. Also the small leaves of the lemon button fern give off a faint lemony scent during the spring and summer months, making it a refreshing addition to any home.

Light

Soil

These plants like soil that’s loose and rich in organic matter with excellent drainage. A peat-based potting mix is good for container plants.

Water

The ferns prefer a consistent amount of soil moisture, but they don’t do well sitting in soggy soil. Water whenever the top inch of soil is dry. Avoid watering directly into the center of the plant, as this can encourage mold growth and rot in the dense nest. Aim water at the soil to avoid wetting the fern’s fronds.

• Do not over water the plant especially when pot does not have drainage holes.
• keep away from the AC Vents.
• Do not apply water on plant leaves.

Initial care for 1-2 weeks after receiving plant at your location.

• Check the moisture in the soil before watering it.
• Poke your finger into the soil, if dry then apply water.
• Keep the plant in indirect light.
• Do not repot immediately after receiving it.
