Kalanchoe blossfeldiana plant , often referred to as the “Flaming Katy” or “Christmas Kalanchoe,” is a popular succulent known for its vibrant, long-lasting blooms. This hardy plant is native to Madagascar and is cherished for its low maintenance and stunning appearance. Furthermore it features fleshy, dark green leaves and clusters of vibrant flowers in various shades, including red, orange, pink, and yellow. Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a smooth, bushy, perennial succulent with evergreen foliage.

Over a span of 2–5 years, it typically grows to a height of 30 to 45 cm (12 to 18 in) and spreads between 10 and 50 cm (4 to 19.5 in). Slow growth of the plant characterize rounded shape with a moderate density. In addition it’s glossy and textured leaves remain vibrant green throughout the year. Moreover it blooms when exposed to about 10 hours of daylight and 14 hours of darkness continuously for 6-8 weeks. In addition the plant’s reproductive structures include a tetracarpellary and apocarpous ovary, along with four stamens that are epipetalous. Its flower clusters are elevated above the leaves on terminal peduncles. Lastly certain parts of this plant can be toxic if consumed.
