Alocasia sanderiana plant , commonly known as the kris plant, is a plant in the family Araceae. In Addition it is endemic to Misamis Occidental and Bukidnon, in the Philippines. Furthermore it is classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Besides the most distinctive feature of Alocasia sanderiana is its large and elongated leaves that resemble the shape of a sword or a spear. Also each leaf grows upright from a central stem (petiole) and can reach lengths of up to 1 to 2 feet (30-60 cm) or more. Moreover the leaves are typically dark green with prominent silvery or metallic veins running through them, adding to their ornamental appeal. Also the leaves are smooth and glossy, with a slightly waxy texture, giving them a luxurious appearance.
