Description

Alocasia sanderiana, commonly known as the kris plant, is a plant in the family Araceae. It is endemic to Misamis Occidental and Bukidnon, in the Philippines. It is classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Planting And Care

For watering, allow the top 2-3″ to dry between watering to ensure the plant isn’t sitting in soil that is too wet. During the winter, Alocasia will go through a dormancy period and will require less frequent watering as the soil will take longer to dry.

Re-potting

Repot Alocasia varieties annually into larger pots with fresh, free-draining potting soil. Also, it’s best to divide the rhizome annually to keep the plant a manageable size and increase your collection.
