Description
Bromeliad belons in the Bromeliaceae family with more than 120 different species. With proper care, these tropical beauties are hardy and easy to grow houseplants that add a colorful accent to indoor spaces.
Neoregelia is the largest of any bromeliad genus and most superbly colored of all, known for their showy and diverse foliage colors and patterns. The rossettes are usually spreading and flat although some are vase shaped. The flowers barely rise above the water in the central cup. Some neoregelia species and hybrids are green when they start out as pups and almost all rely on bright light to achieve brilliant colors.
Neoregelia ‘Variegated Fireball’ is a wonderful hybrid of Neoregelia ‘Tricolor x ‘Fireball’.
A compact clumping bromeliad with strongly variegated foliage with white and pink highlights on the leaf edge. Commonly grown in bark. but can also be grown epiphytically. Flowers are formed in the central cup, but are not showy. Mostly grown for the great foliage.
